ARNOLD's namesake comes from 'Old German' meaning Eagle Ruler. He is truly a noble and proud stallion descending from some of the most influential Trakehner bloodlines. He is related to Olympians PERON and ABDULLAH through his sire DONAUFÜRST by MAHAGONI (PERON's sire), PREGEL (sire of DONAUFÜRST's dam who is a full sister to ABDULLAH's sire DONAUWIND).

Arnold's dam, Alana by HORIZON, is approved ATA, ISR/Oldenburg N.A. and Star KWPN. Due to injuries she received as a weanling she has only been used as a broodmare. She passes on the bloodlines of her sire Horizon, approved at Neumunster, Germany, in 1987 and performance tested in the United States in 1989.

Mahon, Horizon's sire who was also imported, received German approval at Neumunster in 1980 and finished 3/61 stallions in 1981 when he completed his performance tests. Mahon was also approved by the Hannoverian Verband for use as an improvement sire.

He produced three approved sons, Gideon – a dressage champion, Harper (now gelded) – a hunter champion, and Horizon – who won the 1988 Dallas Texas Breeders Show with at score of 68.3%, and has progeny that are currently winning in both breeding and dressage classes. Mahon’s dam,  Marussja 7570, is by the top three day event black stallion Habicht by Burnus among whose successes include the international event at Achselschwang in 1977. Mahon was sired by Mahagoni, one of the world’s top Grand Prix dressage horse sires, including Peron.   Horizon’s dam, Harma, carries both the Pregel bloodlines on the top and Grimsel by Kassio on the bottom.  Harma’s sire Matador, produced Kronjuwel II who won both the Team Dressage Gold Medal and the Individual Bronze Gold Medal at the 1991 Pan Am Games.  His sire, one of Pregel’s most famous sons, Donauwind produced five approved ATA sons in the United States including Abdullah who among his many World Championships, also won the Team Show Jumping Gold Medal and the Individual Show Jumping Silver Medal for the United States at the 1984 OLYMPICS.  Alana’s dam, Arbeit by Antritt produced many performing offspring, most noteably Taiga * Pb * and Tudaya * Ps *. Arbeit’s dam, Arabis is an Honor Roll Mare and carries the bloodlines of Carajan and Altan.

Arnold’s sire, Donaufürst by Mahagoni out of Donaufahrt vom Schimmelhof was imported and approved in 1986.  He was the Grand Champion Stallion at the Alberta Trakehner’s Breeders Group and competed as a successful Hunter and Conformation Champion before embarking upon a winning dressage career all the way to Grand Prix.  Donaufürst  is the only stallion in the history of the breed to have three sons approved in one year.  Donaufürst’s sire, Mahagoni, already mentioned as the sire of the Olympic Dressage winner Peron is currently ranked sixth in the world for producing Grand Prix dressage horses. Donaufürst’s dam, Donaufahrt vom Schimmelhof 3493 is the full sister to Donauwind (Abdullah’s sire) and the daughter of the famous Pregel.  Donaufahrt von Schimmelhof’s bloodline, through her dam, traces to the stallion Cancara, an untiring performer in the sporting field who transmitted his qualities to his progeny, including daughters Donna and Kokette, two of the most outstanding broodmares in German Trakehner breeding.
